This comes after Uganda National Examination board chief issued a<a href=\"https:\/\/ereg.uneb.ac.ug\/files\/roHK3_ComputerStudies8400001.pdf\"> circular<\/a> to schools reminding them that the examination body will test students on Elementary Programming principles as outlined in the 2008 curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Many teachers have been dodging teaching this area of programming because many of them are not comfortable with the topic<\/p>\n<p>The training devoted almost 2 days to this topic covering aspects like<br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to programming languages<br \/>\n&#8211; Program development cycle<br \/>\n&#8211; Control structures (sequence, repeat ion and iteration)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1006\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/programming1.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1006\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1006\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/programming1-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"Participant presents his algorithm using Flowchart\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/programming1-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/programming1-768x574.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/programming1-1024x765.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1006\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Participant presents his algorithm using Flowchart<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8211; Development of program algorithm using pseudocode and flow charts<br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to C and Visual Basic Programming<\/p>\n<p>The retooling workshop was organised by Ministry of Education and Sports. It was sponsored by Uganda Communications commission.<\/p>\n<p>The training was conducted by a team from Sustainable Change Solutions, together with resource persons from UCC (Mr. James Belonda , Director &#8211; RCDF and Mr. Joseph Kizito from Consumer affairs). Ministry of Education and sports was represented by Mr. Alfred Kyaka \u2013 Assistant Commissioner, Secondary Education; and Mr. Muinda Patrick &#8211; Assistant Commissioner &#8211; ICT.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1008\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/kyaka.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1008\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1008\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/kyaka-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Mr. Kyaka from MOES awarding certificates to participants\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/kyaka-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/kyaka-768x432.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.kalsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/kyaka.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1008\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mr. Kyaka from MOES awarding certificates to participants<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Other areas covered during the training included the use of support files, file management, database management and recent developments in ICT.
